Electric pole damaged by bus, replaced immediately
The vehicle that caused damage to pole was used for replacement work
The normally busy traffic on the Gandhi Salai in Kancheepuram, all of a sudden, came to a halt. For almost an hour on Wednesday morning after a State Transport Corporation bus dashed against a power supply pole near Rangaswamykulam.
According to police, the bus was proceeding towards Wallajahbad and rammed the electric pole after it was involved in a minor accident with a van around 9.30 a.m.

While the front windscreen of the bus was broken to smithereens in the impact of the accident, the electric pole was damaged. However, the overhead cable on the pole remained intact and no one was injured.
A little later, employees of the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) rushed to the spot and took immediate measures to replace the damaged pole. The bus which damaged the pole was used by them for the repair work, police said.
