After making a decent debut with 'Thamizh Padam', the first full-length spoof on Kollywood, music composer Kannan is back to impress us with 'Mye', a film directed by Che Ra Gopalan and produced by Surya Narayana Raju.
Presumably a romantic entertainer, the film has Vishnu Priyan, Swetha Basu and Jayaprakash among others in lead roles. Understanding the demands well, Kannan has come out with a collage of tunes for 'Mye'. Let's have a song by song look.

Devathaipol Ival (Haricharan)

While Kannan's composition is like a gentle breeze, Haricharan's voice is like a feather in 'Devathaipol Ival...' A song which takes us to a different world! Though the number faithfully follows the syntax for songs where the protagonist admires his ladylove, Kannan tries to leave his stamp. An interesting start to the album...

Thada Thada Thada Thada (Harini, Chinmayi)

Two top female singers are here to present 'Thada Thada Thada Thada...' which is innovative and interesting as well. Kannan has brought out well the energy of both the singers. A fast-paced melody, this number gives us a feel of taking a long journey on a train.

Kadavulai Kandal (MLR Karthikeyan)

For a youngster in love, his relationship is his religion and his girlfriend is his god. This is the message this song apparently conveys, in an engaging manner. No second thought that this number reminds us some earlier chartbusters. But at the same time, there is also no denial that the Kannana-Karthikeyan combo weaves magic.

Vaa Oru Thuli (Karthik)

Small drops make an ocean, they say. This song, which starts with an interesting prelude, slowly builds up in our ears, to make a big impact in the end. Karthik is at his best in this energetic number, and transfers the power of music to us. Watch out for an interlude by a group of female singers, which talks about Kannan's expertise in music.

Podu Podu Podungadi (Manika Vinayagam, Priya Hemesh)

It should be a folk song if it has Manika Vinayagam at the helm of affairs. Priya Hemesh and the veteran male singer ensure that the foot-tapping number strike a chord. Kannan's tune gets good support not just from the singers, but from the lyricist too. The song could become a bigger hit post the film's release.
