First we would like to clarify that the film has nothing to do with the Rekla race (bull race). In fact Karutha Kannan C/O Rekla Race is full-fledged love story set in the backdrops of a village near Theni.
When Chinna Durai (Subhash) wins Rekla race unexpectedly, he is summoned by the village head for revenge. Reason? The village supplies bull (for the race) to all neighboring areas and he always makes sure that his bull

wins the race. But soon the village head finds out that Chinna Durai considers him as his idol and this leads to a friendship between the two. The village head offers a job to Chinna Durai and soon he wins the trust of everyone there except the village head's wife. When Jayashree (Soundhariya), village head's daughter, returns to the village after completing her studies in Bangalore, she falls in love with Chinna Durai. When we all think that the village head will never approves this relationship there is a twist to the story.
The main story is narrated in flashbacks and Chinna Durai ends up in jail as Abdul. How and why? you will have to watch the film to know more.
First, there are too many unwanted flashback sequences in the film which leads to many confusions. Certain questions (like why should Chinna Durai act as Abdul in jail) are never answered till the end of the film. There is a lot of continuity miss which leads to many screenplay lags. Director Senthilanandhan could have concerted more on the script to make to more intense and interesting. Music by R.K. Sundher is average while Raj Kumar's camera works could have been better.
